Yeddyurappa Shifted To Hospital
Former Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa was shifted to a hospital from jail early Sunday after he complained of chest pain within hours of being arrested in corruption cases.
"Yeddyurappa complained of chest pain and has been shifted to Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology," a Bangalore city police spokesperson said.
Doctors at the state government-run institute here declined to provide details of Yeddyurappa’s ailment and how long he will be kept in the hospital.
Lokayukta special court judge N.K. Sudhindra Rao Saturday sent Yeddyurappa to jail till Oct 22.
The former Karnataka chief minister will petition the high court Monday for bail, according to his lawyers.
Bangalore city Police Commissioner B.G. Jyothiprakash Mirji visited the institute early Sunday to review the security arrangements.
